About Me

Melissa
I grew up in a village of 500 people and now live in a beach town of 10 000. Wife to Jeff, Mama to Makenna and Jack. This is my place to share what's up with us, and the place where I sometimes need to pour my heart out about the not so sunshiney moments. This is my happy place. Cleaning and Organizing...ugh.

Ever feel...

Like all you do...

On your day(s) off...

Is clean up...

after other people?

Sigh.

We spend the day tidying, straightening, organizing, putting laundry away, etc...every weekend, and really have nothing to show for it because we have to do it all again the very next day.

Such is life with kids right?

I have various projects I would like to work on, but this kind of mundane stuff always takes priority and I feel like I never really get much "real stuff" accomplished. It's all just cleaning up, from room to room, day in and day out.

Some of my friends are big believers in, and swear by, Flylady. I have been thinking about checking that out, when yesterday I stumbled across this site. Toni is posting a new challenge each week to help you clean and organize your home. I thought this could be fun, inspiring, and most of all, motivating.

Because some times it all just seems too overwhelming; you want to make changes in your home, get organized and decluttered, but you don't know where to start. Or how to keep it that way. So, I joined the challenge, because it's always more fun if you know someone else is doing it along with you and you can get great ideas from other people. If I have to be accountable for each week's challenge, I am much more likely to actually do it. Perhaps I will blog my own progress here and you can share your successes too.

Interested? You don't need to have a blog, you can just follow along and do your thing on your own. The first challenge starts tomorrow....anyone in with me?

I swear by Flylady, plus it is free to print stuff off there. It is a bit too "rah-rah" sometimes, but if you can get past that part, it is a miracle worker!
