I've been all around the "interweb" as my brother calls it, this week and thought I would share some info and links I found...
Remember all those Mom to Mom sales? I have one more. This one is being called a "Family to Family sale". Saturday June 4 at the Clinton Legion, beginning at 8am, hosted by the Clinton Girl Guides. For $15 you can book a table to sell your stuff. Not just stuff for kids, this is a sale for everyone in the family. Let me know if you would like the contact info.
While reading our local paper I came across an article stating that the Goderich Minor Hockey Program is offering an incentive for first time players. According to the article, "Developmental league costs will be cut in half from $300 to $150 and for any player joining Goderich Minor Hockey for the first time, their first year of hockey will only cost $200 instead of the traditional $600. The idea is to give kids a break on the cost of taking up a new sport".
In this town many kids start hockey in their JK year of school - ages 4-5.
$600 for a 4 year old. Wow. $200 is better, yes, for one year...but still...Wow.
Here is the link to The Children's Health and Safety Website for Canadians You can find great info here on everything from healthy pregnancies to toy safety tips to online saftey. Definitely a good site for any parent. Through this site you can also find the link to the Canadian Government's current car seat expiration guidelines which was just updated on March 30 2011.
Have you heard of The Daytripper? Check it out for lots of great summer fun info for those of us in Southern Ontario this summer...including this very comprehensive list of townwide yard sale dates.
Planning on camping this summer and wondering where to go? Check out this site - a huge list of campgrounds all over Ontario. It does not list Provincial Parks though. You can find info about Ontario's Provincial Parks here.
And finally, Sept 30 - Oct 2 2011 are the dates for Canada's first "Baking and Sweets Show" being held at Toronto's International Centre. Among others, Buddy The Cake Boss will be there. The Happy Baker will be there. You can take a class. Most importantly, you can sample sample sample. How awesome would this be? Check out the website here.
