8000.

Remember last year when I was in Today's Parent Magazine?

No? Here's the story of what happened, and here's the article from the magazine.

If you remember, in the blog post I wrote, I mentioned that a judges panel would review all 12 of the monthly winners and then choose 3 to win an additional $8000 for their Children's Charity..... Remember that....?

......................................???

At the beginning of March I was notified that I was one of the 3!!! That my submission had been selected to recieve an additional $8000, which made for a grand total of $10 000 donated to Rural Response for Healthy Children by Today's Parent Magazine and KRG Children's Charitable Foundation.

The official announcement and article featuring myself and the other 2 winners is in the May 2011 issue of Today's Parent Magazine, which arrived in my mailbox today!!!

The magazine will arrive to subscribers very soon and hit news stands in the next couple of weeks. I hope you'll check it out, National exposure like this is pretty exciting news for our little "Not for profit"...and for me too!

$10 000 towards the charity of my choice, which happens to be the organization I work for, and more specifically, the money is going towards the program I work in.

My picture and our story in the leading National Parenting Magazine, not once, but twice.

All because I took a chance and wrote a letter.

Put yourself out there.

Take a chance. You never know.
