Snowday. Number 5.

We're in the midst of some crazy winter weather here. Since last MOnday Makenna has missed 5 days of school. Ahhh...winter in Canada...but even many seasoned Canadians have had just about enough of this winter blast.

After a pretty scary drive home yesterday surrounded by a wall of white with practically no visibilty (damn you highway 8), I stayed home with the kids today. At 8:30 am we were baking cookies. I got the idea for these ones here.

And the kids made their own too.

Makenna was actually at a friends's house for most of the day (Thank you Jen and Darren!) so once she got home we decorated the cookies

And put together a few little gifts (Cookie cutter filled with Jelly Beans and Hershey Hugs)

And made the cards for the above gifts, the idea for which I got here
(I just used paper off of a big brown roll we have here)

And then had a great time playing I Can Do That, a game I highly, highly recommend.

Yep, even Daddy got in on the fun.

Add in a couple baked cheesecakes, comfy clothes, plays out in the snow, no worries about commuting through the storm, and a super easy, uncontested bedtime and yeah...I love snowdays at home.
:)
