About Me

Melissa
I grew up in a village of 500 people and now live in a beach town of 10 000. Wife to Jeff, Mama to Makenna and Jack. This is my place to share what's up with us, and the place where I sometimes need to pour my heart out about the not so sunshiney moments. This is my happy place. Meal Plan!

Last week's new recipes, the sausage and spinach pasta and the maple glazed chicken were successes in this house. Again, I love this website. Having said that, none of this week's meals are from that website. I went through my fridge and freezer today and found enough food already there to plan a week's worth of meals. Plus, there were some good sales on pasta and chicken breasts at Food Basics this week, which i stocked up on for the next few weeks. AND, not that you care, but they also had cream cheese for $1.50/brick, which was an awesome find for me :)

I spent $62 on groceries today. Pretty darn proud of that. Not sure I have enough snack type foods to last the whole week, but i did some baking tonight and may do some more later in the week to help out with that. And I have to get some veggies for Friday's stirfry still, as I decided on that after I got home from shopping.

Saturday - Dinner out with gift certificates won last weekend...Thanks Kyle and Tanya :)

Sunday - Spaghetti with Sausage meat sauce

Monday - Slowcooker Pork Chops and baked potatoes

Tuesday - Chicken burgers and fries

Wednesday - Honey Garlic Meatballs and Rice

Thursday - Quesadillas

Friday - Chicken Stirfry

Also, as a COMPLETE aside, but kind of food related: Makenna has a little friend who has a lot of food allergies. So when she comes over to play we have to be careful about what we give her for a snack. The little friend is coming over tomorrow, and this evening, Makenna said "I wish I could be _____". I said "really? I kind of like when you are Makenna. Why do you want to be ______?" and she says "So i could be allergic to all those things, and she could eat whatever she wanted".

Love that kid :)
