This sticking to a meal plan based around what's on sale in the flyers and working from the SOS cuisine website is working well...for the budget too...the last 2 weeks we've only spent $80 - $100 on groceries!
Saturday - Dill salmon with spinach salad...cooked carrots for the kids. - Salmon on sale at Zehrs, lots of spinach from the Farmer's Market, got Chives there too, baby carrots on sale at Food Basics.
Sunday - supper with family
Monday - Pasta with Spinach and Sausage - Pasta on sale at Zehrs, Sausage on sale at Food Basics and Zehrs - lots of spinach from the Market.
Tuesday - Roasted Chicken and potatoes - Got roast chicken on sale last week at Zehrs, for $5. Noticed today they are also a good price at our new local butcher shop on the square - $7.
Wednesday - Hamburgers/Hotdogs - weiners on sale at Food Basics, buns on sale at Zehrs.
Thursday - Macaroni and Cheese - Pasta on sale at Zehrs, cheese on sale at Food Basics
Friday - Maple Glazed Chicken with cheesy potatoes - Got a good deal (compared to what they usually cost) on chicken breasts at Zehrs. Cheese on sale at Food Basics.
The kids were not fans of last week's pasta recipe or the beef and asparagus...let's hope for better luck this week!
